The Ancient Lenape: 7,000 Years of History in the Hudson Valley
November 17 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm EST
Discover more than 7,000 years of Munsee Lenape history in a presentation exploring artifacts excavated from the Sloatsburg Spring House Rock Shelter. Drawing on research by Ed Lenik and Nancy Gibbs, Dr. Chuck Stead, an instructor of Environmental Studies at Ramapo College, examines how these discoveries document continuous Munsee Lenape presence in the region. A PowerPoint presentation and artifact display will highlight two significant finds from the site that connect us to prehistoric Lenape culture.
